STEPS TO MAKING
WORLDS BEST BREWED COFFEE
TECHNIQUE:

  • Set grind on Oxo Grinder to medium-course (for a French Press), leave it there. DO NOT USE A SPICE GRINDER.
  • Set the timer on Oxo Grinder to @ 11 sec., leave it there.
  • Set kitchen digital timer to 4 minutes.
  • Empty all of the fresh Coffee Beans (1 lb) into the air tight sealed canister.  (Not into the Grinder).
  • Add @ 1 Qt plus of water to the Kettle, bring to a boil on your stovetop.
(NOTE: There is NO need for filtered or bottled water if your tap water is OK to drink.  If not good to drink, consider using filtered water kept in your refrigerator).
  • Using the 1/3 cup measurer, add 1/3 cup of fresh whole coffee beans to grinder. This equals  the correct ground bean weight to used for 2 – 14 oz mugs of fresh coffee.  See MATH below.
  • Place your open French Press, coffee mug and timer on countertop.

THEN:

  •      When you hear the “whistling sound” and the water begins to boil, remove Kettle from the stovetop and set aside.  Turn cooktop heat off.
  •      Start and Grind the 1/3 cup of the fresh whole coffee beans that are in your Oxo Grinder, then place the freshly ground coffee beans into your French Press. See MATH below.
  •      Add about 1 inch or so of hot water to your Fr Press.
  •      Start kitchen timer (it should read 4 min. to begin).
  •      Gently swirl your Fr Press around with the hot water for @ 30 sec.  (This removes the bitter aromas from the coffee and allows the ground coffee to swell up a bit).
  •      Then add hot water to your Fr Press up to @ the 1st metal line. (Note: by this time the water has cooled some, getting to @ 195 degrees.)
  •      Gently stir with a large spoon (English technique) back and forth 3-4 times.
  •      Place Fr Press top into your Press and push down, gently until it just hits the water.  This will keep the coffee warm while brewing (immersing).
  •      Add some of the hot water to your mugs to pre heat, esp. on a cold mourning.
  •      When the digital timer goes “off” at 4 min., stop it.  Now, there is no hurry.
  •      Gently and slowly press down on Press top round handle – all the way.
  •       Pour OUT the hot water from your mugs.
  •          Slowly pour “WORLD’S BEST BREWED COFFEE” into your mugs.

Yields about two mugs (4 Cups) of Worlds Best Brewed Coffee!

ENJOY! Paul

MATH:

*Keep it simple!  Just use 1/3 Cup of fresh whole coffee beans into your burr grinder.

*Water amount in a Fr Press = 16 oz.

*Recommended Amount of ground coffee is 2 Tbsp. per 4 oz of water.

*For a Fr Press (16 oz) use 16/4 oz water is 4 x 2 Tbsp = 8 Tbsp. of ground coffee.

1/3 of a Cup of Coffee Beans yields 1/2 Cup of ground coffee.

1/2 Cup of ground coffee = 8 Tbsp.

NOTE: If you desire only one mug (7-8 oz) of coffee simply grind about 1/2 of a 1/3 Cup of coffee beans; then add about 1/2 of the hot water to your Fr Press.

Always, WORLDS BEST BREWED COFFEE!
